Using this website
The information on this website is for general guidance only. We do our best to keep it accurate and up to date, but it is not technical, financial, legal or energy tariff advice. You should not rely on website information alone when deciding whether a Solar PV, battery storage, EICR or electrical service is suitable for your property.
All website content, including text, images, design and branding, belongs to us or our licensors. You may view it for personal or business enquiry purposes, but you must not copy, republish or commercially exploit it without our written permission.
Quotes and contracts
Enquiries through the website do not create a contract. A contract is formed only when we issue a written quote or proposal and you accept it in the way stated in that quote. Quotes are based on the information available at the time and may change after a survey, structural checks, electrical checks, access review, supplier price changes or changes to the requested work.
Any estimated generation, savings, payback period, battery performance or export income is an estimate only. Actual results depend on your property, usage, weather, shading, tariff, equipment, maintenance and grid/export arrangements.
Your responsibilities
You agree to: give us accurate information about your property, ownership, access, electrical system and project requirements; make sure we have safe access to the property and working areas at agreed times; tell us about asbestos, fragile roofs, hidden services, listed building status, conservation restrictions or other known risks; obtain landlord, freeholder, lender, planning, building control or other permissions where they are your responsibility; and keep children, pets and other people away from work areas while work is being carried out.
Solar, battery, EICR and electrical work
Solar PV and battery systems are designed around the information gathered during enquiry and survey. We may need to liaise with suppliers, scaffolders, distribution network operators, certification bodies or manufacturers. Timescales can be affected by weather, access, stock availability, grid approval, third-party appointments and safety considerations.
EICR reports record the condition of an electrical installation at the time of inspection. If remedial work is needed, that work will be quoted separately unless your written quote says otherwise.
Payment
Prices, deposits, stage payments, final payments and VAT treatment will be set out in your quote or invoice. You must pay invoices by the due date stated. For business customers, we may claim statutory interest and fixed recovery costs on late commercial payments where the law allows. For consumer customers, we may charge reasonable interest or recovery costs where this is stated in the quote or invoice and permitted by law.
Goods and materials supplied remain our property until paid for in full, to the extent permitted by law.
Consumer cancellation rights
If you are a consumer and you enter into a distance or off-premises contract with us, you may have a 14-day right to cancel.
We will provide cancellation information where required. If you ask us to start work during the cancellation period, you may need to pay for work carried out up to the point you cancel. Cancellation rights may be affected once bespoke goods have been ordered, made to your specification or installed, or where urgent work has been requested.
To cancel, contact us clearly by email, phone or post using the details above.
Warranties and aftercare
Workmanship and manufacturer warranties will be explained in your quote, handover documents or product paperwork.
Manufacturer warranties are provided by the manufacturer and may depend on correct use, maintenance and registration.
Warranties do not cover misuse, accidental damage, lack of maintenance, third-party alterations, external faults, storm damage or issues outside our reasonable control.
Liability
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, breach of statutory rights where they cannot be excluded, or anything else that cannot legally be limited or excluded.
If you are a consumer, we are responsible for foreseeable loss or damage caused by our breach or negligence. If you are a business customer, our total liability for a project is limited to the amount paid for that project, unless the written quote or contract says otherwise.
Complaints
If something is not right, please contact us as soon as possible so we can investigate and try to resolve it. Email info@solar-york.co.uk or call 07921 480 235.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you may also have rights to bring a claim in the courts of the part of the UK where you live.
